Dorset's Doggy Beaches

Durdle Door, DorsetThe South West Coast Path is a walkers paradise. Mile upon mile of dramatic coastline, littered with iconic beaches and welcoming pubs.

As a local, I'd say that one drawback is the endless dog on lead... dog off lead... dog on lead. Dog wants a swim, dog can't have a swim at this one, so he'll have to wait for the next one!

Obviously some beaches allow our four-legged friends untethered all year round. But then some, and generally the nicest, don't. However on the 1st of October Dorset becomes a pet lover's paradise, all bets are off and he or she can roam free! All the sand is open to you, Studland, Swanage, Weymouth and Lyme Regis are all dog friendly from the 1st October.

So why not take advantage of the fabulous 10% off all full week bookings in October and stay in one of our many pet friendly cottages. For a full breakdown of pet friendly beaches and those that open on 1st October click here.
