A short steep descent down Higher Sea Lane and then footpath brings you down onto the beach.  For a more gentle approach; stroll down the high street and turn right into Lower Sea Lane to the sea.  Charmouth Beach is the best fossil hunting beach in the county and is a combination of sand and shingle.
