To The Sea....

There is a choice between footpaths or lanes for you to choose to reach the beach at Charmouth.  From the top of Old Lyme Road a footpath decends through a small nature reserve and joins up with the coast path down onto the beach. For a more direct route, turn right at the bottom of the lane into Higher Sea Road. At the bend there is a choice of two footpaths that lead down onto the best fossil hunting beach in the county.  A combination of sand and shingle with a good visitor centre.
