Property Grading Information

We carefully select and regulary inspect the properties on our books to ensure high standards. However the true test is what you, our clients, think of them.

YOU GRADE OUR PROPERTIES ON A SCALE OF 1 TO 5 ON TWO CRITERIA

Each property description shows up to 5 of these two symbols, providing you with a scale of excellence based on last year's client's satisfaction.

Property Facilities and Information

Bedrooms:

Beds are: Double - 4ft 6in. Single/bunk - 3ft. They are freshly made up for you with sheets, duvets and 2 pillows per person. All bed linen and towels are included. Small or bunk bedrooms indicated e.g. 'Sleeps 2/4 (sleeps 4 in total).

High chair and travel cot (occasionally a proper cot as stated on the individual property page), where available, are not charged for; cot bedding and towels for babies are not supplied.

Sitting room:

With TV/DVD & Radio. Most have an open fire or logburner (Logs/coal provided free October to April - kindling and fire lighters are not provided).

Many cottages state Broadband or Wireless Broadband available. It is provided by owners free of charge and is on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Owners cannot warrant that this service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

Bathroom:

All with WC, hand basin and a bath or shower.

Kitchen:

Fully equipped with cooker, refridgerater, microwave, washing machine and freezer unless otherwise specified. Properties which only have a freezer compartment in the fridge state 'ice-box fridge'.

Dining Area:

Appropriate for specified occupancy.

Garden:

Well maintained with outdoor furniture, unless otherwise stated.

Pets:

Dogs can also enjoy a wonderful Dorset Seaside Holiday. No need to put your pet in expensive boarding kennels when at least half the properties on our books except them. One dog (2 in some) welcome, provided it is not left unattended or allowed in bedrooms. Each dog costs £19 per week; (part week £14). Please see 'Property list' and the individual property pages for details.

Electricity/gas/oil:

Included in the rental. Telephone for incoming and 999 calls or payphone

Mobile Phone Coverage

The wonderfully diverse landscape of Dorset offers many hidden treasures to explore including pretty villages tucked away in the valleys and along the coast.  This beautiful county however is not served well by the mobile phone networks and coverage can be hit and miss.  It is worth checking with your provider before coming away on holiday or please ask a member of staff when booking about your the coverage at your destination.

Arrival and Departure Times

Arrival Time: After 3 pm. Departure Time: Before 10 am. (4pm Arrival, 11am Departure in some cases)

We re-inspect the properties regularly. They are cleaned between each let but please bear in mind the short change-over period. Please help us maintain high standards by leaving the property clean and tidy.

Booking:

To confirm availability and book , telephone 0800 6349000 or Mob: 0300 4403066 (+441929 401 428). Your property will be reserved whilst we mail your booking form/invoice; you must complete and return it with payment within 5 days to confirm your holiday. First Payment - 30% of rent plus agent's booking fee (£20) Final Payment - Due 8 weeks before holiday. If booking less than 8 weeks prior to holiday, full payment is required.

For all 2012 bookings a £3 charge will be applied to credit card payment. Debit cards are free of charge.

Short Breaks:

3 nights from £184.00. Priced at 2/3rds of the full week price: See 'Out of Season''. Bookings for more than a week, but less than two are priced 1/7th of the weeks price for each extra night added - for example 10 days would be priced at a full week plus 3/7ths.

Cancellation Protection Scheme:

Dorset Holiday Cottages Limited is pleased to offer a Cancellation Protection Scheme for Clients booking with us. The cost of participating in the scheme is £5 per head of all those on the Booking Form. Click Here for details.

Cancellation:

Over two months prior to holiday, deposit refunded less £60 cancellation charge. (Booking Fee non-refundable.) Within two months of holiday, rent refunded, if re-let, less £60 cancellation charge. (Booking Fee non-refundable.)

Damage Deposits

A Damage Deposit of £150 against damage/extra cleaning will be required for properties with 4 or more bedrooms and other bookings/deposits rates at our discretion. Non family groups are only accepted at owners discretion. Click Here for more information.
